Michigan’s Great Lakes are its single greatest natural resource. When some in Washington wanted to cut $300 million in funding to preserve and protect the Great Lakes, I stood up and fought for full funding for the successful private-public partnership called GLRI.
The Great Lakes provide clean drinking water to tens of millions of people and are an invaluable resource to Michigan’s growing economy.
As your member of Congress these are my priorities to ensure our Great Lakes remain clean and safe for future generations:
· Oppose the Canadian nuclear disposal site near Lake Huron in Kincardine.
· Continue to fully fund the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
· Prevent invasive species, such as Asian Carp, from entering the Great Lakes.
