Paul Mitchell said, “The tragedy yesterday in Chattanooga brings up a serious question — why on earth are our military facilities gun free zones? The brave men and women who serve our nation in the military are the best trained and most lethal fighting force in the world that we entrust to defend our freedom. Yet, we do not allow them to be armed at their posts here in the United States. That is ridiculous and leaves our troops unable to defend themselves from those who seek to attack the symbol they represent. And worse, this fact is broadcast to our terrorist enemies. No longer should our military families and our entire nation be forced to mourn tragedies like Fort Hood or Chattanooga. It is time to allow those who wear the uniform to defend themselves.”
